Continuous Carbonisation Furnace and Log Carbonisation Furnace Difference

Continuous Carbonisation Furnace and log carbonisation furnace are two different types of carbonisation equipment. The working principle, equipment structure, production efficiency, energy consumption and environmental performance are very different.

The difference between continuous carbonisation furnace and log carbonisation furnace:

Equipment structure: Continuous carbonisation furnace usually adopts multi-layer structure. Inside the furnace body, there are several heating and charring areas. Continuous charring operation can be achieved. This improves the charring efficiency. The furnace body adopts multi-layer structure. It has good heat preservation performance and is equipped with automatic control system to ensure the stability of charring. Log carbonisation furnace is relatively simple. Generally there is only one charring chamber, and the furnace body is not equipped with charring layer and combustion layer. The carbonisation of biomass can be achieved by controlling the combustion process.

Production efficiency: Continuous carbonisation furnace has higher charring efficiency than log carbonisation furnace. Because the Continuous carbonisation furnace adopts the continuous feeding method, the raw materials can be fed into the charcoal furnace body through the conveyor. The charring products can be output continuously. And the charring efficiency is relatively continuous and stable. Log carbonisation furnace is different, the logs can only be taken out after charring. It is not able to feed and discharge continuously. Therefore, the charring cycle is very long and the production efficiency is low.

Continuous Carbonisation Furnace and Log Carbonisation Furnace Difference

Solid charcoal quality: charcoal products after pyrolysis is completed in continuous carbonisation furnace and log carbonisation furnace. The finished products produced by continuous carbonisation furnace have good uniformity and charring degree. The finished carbon products made are very good. Log carbonisation furnace charring after charring may have problems such as uneven charring and insufficient charring degree. The quality of discharged finished products is poor.

Raw material humidity: The raw material put into the log charring furnace can be big size. For example: wood, bamboo, branches, wood blocks, sticks, logs and other biomass raw materials. The charring time can be decided according to the dryness and wetness of the raw material. Continuous charring furnace input raw materials are suitable for crushed materials. For example: rice husk, fruit shells, wood, wood chips, sawdust and so on. There are certain requirements on the humidity of raw materials. Raw material humidity should be below 30%. If the raw material humidity is too high. Before carbonisation then the material needs to be dried first.
